Ms. Keohane = Nan Keohane, President of the University. Trent was the main dorm located on North Campus.

North Campus was arguably the least desirable living space on campus. Not necessarily because of the housing itself, but because it was so inconveniently located. East and West Campus had libraries, classroom buildings, and eating options. North Campus had (basically) none of that, and was a good mile or more from West Campus. (Plus, a freight train rolled through North Campus around 5am every morning.)

Basically, the plan ended up like this: upperclass living groups would be put on West. All of the other spaces on West and North would be filled through a lottery system. If only life were fair...
